Accident, breakdown, fire, emergency, tunnel fire

After an accident there are clear duties: stop, secure the scene, help, report. The Traffic Rules Ordinance (VRV) governs the warning triangle (50 m or 100 m), the use of hazard warning lights, behaviour on the motorway and in tunnels, and the emergency equipment of heavy vehicles.

Question 2: Marco, who is not involved, passes an accident scene where an injured person is lying on the ground. What applies to him?

  • Only the persons involved in the accident are obliged to help
  • He must not stop, so as not to obstruct the traffic
  • He must give help as far as can reasonably be expected of him
Show answer
